Learn Korean with News: Digital Detox - Giving Your Brain a Break
Hello, Korean learners! It's Soona. How many hours a day do you spend looking at your smartphone or computer screen? In modern society, we are constantly bombarded with endless notifications, emails, and social media updates. Because of this, a new lifestyle trend is gaining massive popularity in Korea: '디지털 디톡스' (Digital Detox).
Many Koreans are consciously choosing to log out of the digital world to rest their exhausted eyes and brains. People are turning off their phones during the weekend, reading paper books, or taking walks in nature. Interestingly, cafes and accommodations that strictly prohibit digital devices are also becoming popular hot spots! Although being disconnected might feel anxious at first, many say it eventually brings them true peace of mind.
In today’s interactive lesson, we will dive into this healthy digital detox culture while mastering practical vocabulary and essential intermediate grammar patterns: 'V-느라(고)' (Because of doing V...), 'A/V-게 되다' (To end up doing / To become), and 'V-(으)ㄹ까 하다' (To be thinking of doing...).
Be sure to click the sentences in the interactive module below to listen to the premium native audio, and practice your speaking out loud! Let’s explore how to find a healthy balance in our digital lives and upgrade your Korean fluency today!
