Learn Korean with News: A Day in the Life of a Korean Office Worker
Hello, Korean learners! It's Soona. Have you ever wondered what a typical day looks like for a Korean office worker? From the moment the sun rises, their fast-paced and highly structured daily routine begins!
In Korea, the morning commute is so notoriously crowded that people call the subway the '지옥철' (Hell-train). After surviving the commute and working busily, lunchtime arrives. Many workers eat at the '구내식당' (Company cafeteria) and always grab an iced Americano on their way back to the office to survive the afternoon sleepiness. And what happens at 6 PM? While everyone hopes to get off work (퇴근), '야근' (Overtime work) is still quite common. Sometimes, they finish the day with a '회식' (Company dinner), sharing pork belly and Soju with their colleagues to build teamwork!
In today’s interactive lesson, we will dive into this highly relatable corporate culture while mastering essential business daily vocabulary and practical intermediate grammar patterns: 'V-고 나면' (Once you finish V-ing, then...), 'V-기 십상이다' (It is highly likely to [negative outcome]), and 'N이/가 부담스럽다' (To feel burdened by N).
