  • Even when talking about your own home or family, Koreans often say “우리 집 / 우리 엄마” instead of “제 집 / 제 엄마.” It sounds warm and natural!

→ Our house isn’t big.


3️⃣ 제 방에는 침대가 있어요.

(je bang-e-neun chim-dae-ga i-sseo-yo.) 

→ There’s a bed in my room.


4️⃣ 거실에 소파랑 TV가 있어요.

(geo-sil-e so-pa-rang ti-bi-ga i-sseo-yo.) 

→ There’s a sofa and TV in the living room.


5️⃣ 부엌에 냉장고가 있어요.

(bu-eok-e naeng-jang-go-ga i-sseo-yo.) 

→ There’s a refrigerator in the kitchen.


6️⃣ 저희 집에는 세탁기가 두 대 있어요.

(jeo-hui jip-e-neun se-tak-gi-ga du dae i-sseo-yo.) 

→ Our house has two washing machines.


7️⃣ 제 방은 작지만 편해요.

(je bang-eun jak-ji-man pyeon-hae-yo.) 

→ My room is small but comfortable.


8️⃣ 화장실 문이 닫혔어요.

(hwa-jang-sil mun-i da-chyeo-sseo-yo.) 

→ The bathroom door is closed.




3️⃣ Expression Tips & Cultural Notes



  • “우리 집” = my house

    Koreans say “우리 집” even when living alone — it’s more natural and humble.


  • Politeness levels:

    • 제 (my, polite) → use with strangers, teachers, or customers

    • 내 (my, casual) → with friends or family

    • 저희 (our, polite plural) → used in formal contexts

    • 우리 (our/my) → warm, neutral, everyday use


  • Location particle “ often appears with home vocabulary.

    집에 가요. → I’m going home.

    방에 있어요. → I’m in the room.
