“색깔” (saek-kkal) literally means “color,” but Koreans often just say 색 (saek) in casual speech.(예: “빨간색” → “빨강,” “노란색” → “노랑”)
To describe something’s color, use “~색이에요.”Example: “하늘은 파란색이에요.” → “The sky is blue.”
Light and dark tones are expressed as “밝은 색” (bright color) and “어두운 색” (dark color).
In Korean culture, colors often carry symbolic meanings:
빨간색 → passion or love ❤️
하얀색 → purity or innocence 🤍
검은색 → elegance or formality 🖤
